The whole structure is divided into two parts – the central chamber and outer corridor. The Central chamber has a tomb of Dariya Khan, his son , and followers accompanied by a huge drum. Every installation is huge there.

It is said that Dariya khan was a nobleman from Ahmed Shah’s court and advisor of Mehmud Begada. The area where he lived was known as Dariyapur. And there was a darwaza (door) named after him is known as Dariyapur Darwaja.

Since Thursday is considered to be an auspicious day to worship Dariya Khan, people pray and surrender whole heartily to this nobleman

A large drum is found in the central chamber which is being used every day while prayers are being offered to the great saint Dariya Khan. The wide circular corridor is used as rope making.

The structure is totally different than other Islam monuments of Ahmedabad. There is no intricate carving and architecture is made from typical bricks. The huge pillars and the massive dome is associated with Turko-Persian Islamic architecture.
